Heavy Equipment Operator/Wastewater Plant Technician

THE TOWN OF HILLIARD is seeking a highly motivated individual for the Heavy Equipment Operator/Wastewater Plant Technician position.  This full-time position supports the Public Works Department by operating heavy equipment and assisting in the operation and maintenance of the Town’s wastewater and water systems. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for operating dump trucks and other heavy equipment, assisting with water meter readings, utility maintenance, wastewater treatment operations, and emergency response. The role requires working both independently and collaboratively across departments.

Qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, along with at least two years of experience in utility work. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered. A valid State of Florida Driver’s License is required, and a CDL is strongly preferred. Certification in Water or Wastewater Plant Operation is also preferred.
