Public Works Director

THE TOWN OF HILLIARD is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to serve as its full-time Public Works Director. The position oversees and supervises Public Works staff while planning, directing, budgeting, and evaluating services in engineering, facilities, fleet, road maintenance, and solid waste, while also working closely with the Mayor and Town Council in all discussions and decision making in all pertinent areas.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least four years of experience in utilities or public works. A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field is preferred, along with five years of relevant experience, including three in a public-sector management role. Equivalent education and experience will be considered. Strong leadership, time management, and communication skills are essential.

A valid Driver’s License is required. Certification in Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operation is preferred. The candidate must maintain all continuing education requirements necessary to retain licensure.
